If your internet is not working in the dormitory, it could be for several reasons:
- In the dormitories that are supplied with internet by the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, access is restricted by quota.
- Please check your quota at: https://quota.wohnheim.uni-kl.de, here you can also see your current consumption and the amount of the quota.
- If the quota has been exceeded, your access will be blocked and will be automatically unblocked the next day.
- A device (PC, laptop, WIFI router, smartphone, ...) in your home may be infected by a virus, Trojans, ransomware, malware, ...
- We have blocked your connection to prevent the malware from spreading. Please check all your systems with anti-virus software (if you need support, please also contact Netz-AG) and notify Netz-AG (if available) or us (noc@wohnheim.uni-kl.de) . The connection will be activated again after the devices have been cleaned up.
- Have you moved in and the internet is not working?
- Your device must be set to "Obtain an IP address automatically" (DHCP). Please note that you will only receive one IPv4 address per room.
- Do you use a WiFi router?
- Please check the configuration. The router must be set up as a NAT (Network Address Translation) device. If you need support, please contact the Netz-AG or friends, the RHRK does not offer support for WIFI routers in dormitories.
